PROJECT WILSON 2020
A DRIFTING BUOY STUDENT SCIENCE PROJECT
A big thanks to...
Captain James Knutson — for his generosity and enthusiasm in agreeing early on to take Wilson out to sea. We wouldn't consider entrusting it with anyone else!
Mark & Laurie Gable — for their enormous support helping to launch, record, and christen Wilson for his maiden voyage across the
Atlantic.
Wayne Pavalko — for sharing his buoy-making experience and lessons learned, his Arduino code which gave us a big headstart.
Carly Chillmon — for her encouragement of the pursuit of science. Also, for (begrudgingly) allowing Wilson to be a roommate in our home for over two years and the guest bedroom being commandeered as a workshop far too many times.
Darrell Cox — for passing on his curiosity and knowledge of electrical engineering and for contributing various spare parts/tools used in Wilson's construction. Thanks, Poppi!
Paul Brophy — for providing often necessary diversions from long days in the garage. Also, for being the most excellent sweeper and helping clean up our messes.
Amanda and Donald Brophy — for providing the Pelican 1450 Case which is Wilson's hull. Without it, Wilson's instruments would have no protection from the harsh elements of the Atlantic Ocean!
